It seems that having one of the largest ranges of standard size enclosures in stainless steel is not always good enough.

 

Sometimes the perfect enclosure is 46mm deeper or 78mm wider!

 

Normally, this would be a problem for any manufacturer, especially if small quantities are involved. Not so for Eldon. Having converted stainless steel production in the UK over to cell technology, we can offer any quantity of non-standard sizes on short lead times.

Using the nearest sized enclosure as a reference point, our drawing office will quickly produce a set of drawings for approval — and while we are changing the size, why not let us punch any holes or cut outs at the same time?

 

Traditionally, even a simple special can take up to 6 weeks to produce, although our aim is to average around 2 weeks from drawing approval.  However, in extreme circumstances I have seen specials produced in hours!

 

It seems we underestimated how popular stainless steel specials would be, because at the end of July we were 100% ahead of this time last year.

 

But the story isn’t over yet, because the UK has another trick up its sleeve!  Apart from stainless steel specials, we can also modify mild steel products in our Assembly Area.

 

We have three highly skilled engineers able to take any standard product from stock and carry out modifications to your design. Depending on the complexity and quantity, we can either carry out the work by hand or use equipment in the main factory.

 

Having the use of the laser to cut holes even in mild steel enclosures is a great benefit, although sometimes the human touch is just as good!

 

The Assembly Area is extremely versatile and we like to think that no job is either too small or too big for us to take on. A flexible approach and the desire to remove the hassle from finding just the right enclosure for the application is our main aim. And that has proved to be a winning combination this year.

I often walk down to the Assembly Area to see what the guys are up to and am constantly amazed at the variety of work we are producing.  The guys don’t mind if it’s five MAS wall mounts with three holes in each or fitting a busbar system to three bays of MCL motor control centres, because they get the same satisfaction from every project.

 

Whether it’s a size change to an ASR stainless steel wall mount or fitting fans and filters to MCS floor standers, Eldon Electric has the resources available to produce to customer specific requirements quickly and efficiently.
